We have now taken a deposit on Caspar pending completion when the canal opens again in March. The website will remain in place for now - but if anyone would like to take over the narrowboatforsale domain please contact us using the link below.
Caspar is a 70' Dennis Cooper (CTS or Canal Transport Services) boat built approximately 1976. The boat has been surveyed every 4 years by Roger Lorenz and carries a full Boat Safety Certificate (valid until 2010).
The boat has a steel hull and original wooden cabin. The exterior of the cabin was completely reclad in plywood 2006 by Phil Babb. The interior is well insulated and lined throughout. Hull was last blacked in June 2008.
A much admired classic boat with lovely lines which was designed and has been used as a family home for many years. The boat is fully operational, well ballasted and handles superbly even in high winds.
The stainless steel water tank is located under the front deck. Vented gas lockers are located either side of front door.
At present it is on a marina mooring in the East Midlands (mooring continuation to be negotiated with marina if desired).
The boat was extended by 10' in 1985 by Roger Farrington and AP Boat Services to provide space for a second bedroom.
Paintwork is navy blue and red with cream lines and a grey roof.
Powered by 4 Cylinder Kubota with dedicated Hydraulic Drive (also configured to power 240V alternator). Dual wiring for 12V and 240V systems.
Sold with fitted carpets throughout, 240V Hotpoint fridge, Stoves Newhome 4 burner gas cooker with oven and grill, Coalbrookdale Little Wenlock Solid Fuel Stove, Faversham Solid Fuel Stove (in back cabin), Beko WM 5140 240V Washing Machine, curtains, sofa, small cabinets, porta potti and fitted mattresses.
