The Angostura Bridge - the only bridge on the Orinoco
Ciudad Bolivar features the only bridge across the Orinoco River (left) and is the spot where the modern nation of Venzuela was declared.
The plane on the right was that used by US pilot Jimmy Angel when he became the first westerner to see what is now known as Angel's Fall. He actually landed the plane on top of the tepui and couldn't take off again - the plane was retrieved by the Venezualen authorities.

The plane is now a monument and is situated at Ciudad Bolivar airport

You can sit on top of Salto Sapo -
 - but watch you don't slip!
The top pictures are of Salto Sapo, a 'smaller' waterfall near Canaima. Transport to Angel's Fall is provided by dug out canoe (below). Accomodation is quite basic (below right). We were lucky to get a good view of the falls on our arrival.
